I want to help you to become a better artist and have fun while you’re doing it! My style of teaching is to tell you about powerful ways to approach your drawings that will boost your technical ability as fast as possible. In other words, I’m going to help you to make your art look like the thing you’re drawing. But I won’t rush you through it! We’ll take as long as you need to get a good understanding of the most important aspects of the lesson. We can focus on what you are most interested in learning about. Want to learn how to draw faces better? Or maybe improve your proportions for drawing a full body person? Pets, landscapes, still life, it’s your choice because I work for you. Each of these are unique subjects, but there are certain fundamentals that apply to all of them which I will help you with to give your drawings more of a “pop out” look! Some of those things are learning to see values (light and dark), negative space, and how angles and relationships of different elements

Private Drawing Lessons Near You
Anyone can pick up a pen or pencil and make a little doodle, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re producing a masterpiece. A true work of art takes forethought, planning, and a concentrated effort to create a visual work of art. But not everyone innately possesses those skills or talents. However, that’s not to say they can’t learn them.
That’s where private drawing lessons can help. Here at TakeLessons, we offer drawing courses where you can work one-on-one with a certified teacher who will provide you with the tools you need to improve your art skills. If you’re looking to learn the basics, consider taking one of our drawing courses for beginners. But if you’re interested in mastering certain styles and techniques,
you might look into our more advanced lessons. Wherever you are in your artistic journey, allow our drawing tutors to help you take your skills to the next level.
Why Learn How to Draw?
Learning to draw is a great way to express yourself and your creativity. Not only that, but it’s fun to see what you’re capable of producing when you put pencil to paper. Drawing also opens up professional opportunities in graphic arts, animation, design, and more, and it’s quite good for a person's health. Individuals who draw regularly tend to demonstrate improved memory, creativity, focus, and communication skills. They also tend to suffer less from anxiety and depression, as drawing can be a great stress reliever.
Drawing is highly beneficial to the developing minds of children. Children who spend time drawing fine-tune their motor skills and hand-eye coordination as these centers of the brain continue to develop. Drawing also helps foster imagination and creativity. Plus, children who draw benefit from improved analytical and visual skills, in addition to increased focus and problem-solving abilities. Who knew that the art of drawing could have such a positive effect on adults and children alike?
The Best Way to Learn How to Draw and What You'll Study in Drawing Classes
Although you can find lots of free drawing classes and tutorials online, the best way to learn how to draw is by studying with a private drawing tutor. In private lessons, you receive individualized instruction from a certified teacher dedicated to your success. Even better, you don’t have to worry about dealing with classroom distractions or keeping up with the pace of the class.
You can go at your own speed and ask as many questions as you may have. You'll pick up new techniques fast and overcome challenges quickly as you receive immediate feedback. Plus, your teacher will fully customize your lessons to keep you interested and motivated. Want to focus on improving your shading skills? Or what about focusing on a specific style of drawing? Whatever it is, consider it done. Your drawing tutor will provide you with the guidance you need to accomplish all your artistic goals.
No two private lessons are exactly alike. For example, drawing classes for adults differ greatly in terms of subject matter and teaching methods from drawing lessons for kids. In private lessons, you'll focus on the subjects and media that interest you most while learning at a pace that's comfortable for you.
