I have been teaching Italian for 5 years now, I have traveled to Italy numerous times spending time with Italian-only speaking families and I enjoy talking about almost anything Italian. If you are looking for lessons and you are just beginning or have been speaking for some time I would love to help you improve your knowledge of the language to become a fluent speaker.

I feel that learning in general and learning a foreign language in particular is about repetition and I ask my students to repeat everything I teach over and over again until they know it by heart. I keep my lessons simple to avoid overwhelming the students and to allow time for them to repeat what they learned earlier. I teach the words that form part of the so called core vocabulary; words that are chosen according to frequency and range (in the sense that they “occur across a wide variety of texts”) It is often said that the first 2000 most frequent words cover approximately 90% of the vocabulary used by native-speakers in daily conversations. This means that for a student they represent the basic resource to be able to communicate.

I've been teaching Italian since 2003 and my students have gone on to develop a deep love of its culture, travel abroad, and make new friends. Within the first few lessons, you'll understand why Italian is one of the most beautiful languages of the world, and as time goes on you’ll love it forever. I started teaching Italian in 1985, in McAllen, Texas, as a private tutor. I again kept tutoring Italian, this time for freshmen college students in Sugar Land, Texas in 2015. I am an Italian native speaker, and at the present time I am writing short stories in Italian.

I hold a B.A., M.A. and Doctorate in Modern Languages and specialize in language instruction. We always infuse culture into each language lesson, and you will see I cater to your specific interests or future travel plans. Ciao/ Hello! My name is Francesca. I was born and raised in Italy. I have been teaching Italian since 2008 at levels ranging from beginner to advanced and to all ages. My lessons are fun, dynamic, and flexible. They intended to develop speaking, listening, writing and reading skills and offer fun conversation on a variety of topics. Students learn the language through practical examples of daily life situations. Each lesson can be tailored to the students’ needs. I have also tailored my lessons for students that want to learn the Italian language for traveling purposes. Learning a language goes hand in hand with understanding the culture. My lessons are focused on using the Italian culture to provide the setting that helps the students learn the language and feel comfortable and confident when speaking to native Italian speaking persons.
