I have been teaching all levels of piano for many years, from beginners to advanced and professional. I hold a Doctorate in Piano Performance, an Artist Diploma from the Mozarteum Academy in Austria, and a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance. I am especially strong in teaching technique, sightreading, and repertoire. I have also had extensive Suzuki teacher training. My students excel in competitive and non-competitive events including CM.

I have been playing for more than 10 years, and I am now ready to help others master the piano as well. I welcome all beginners - children, teens, and adults - and I always customize lessons to meet each student's needs. All students need for my piano lessons are: piano lesson books (per my recommendation), their pianos or keyboards, and a smartphone, tablet or computer. I like to keep my setup simple so we can focus on the music!

When I entered the 4th grade, I started taking piano lessons. Music theory was a helpful guide in my journey to grow my technique and my understanding of the marvelous instrument that is the piano. Because I had a digital keyboard for at-home practice, I not only learned how to play a non-digital piano but also a modern instrument that uses chords to control the harmony. I can read notes, recognize rhythm, tempo, and key on sight, and I am knowledgeable about transposition and music notation for the piano.

As a classically-trained pop pianist of 21 years, I love teaching my students the language of music. Whether you want to learn basics, expand your classical technique, or learn how to play your favorite pop songs, I'm ready to take your self-expression to the next level! I can't wait to start this journey with you. In your first few lessons, you'll learn basic music theory as well as piano etiquette, and even a few songs! As we go on, we will also incorporate ear training and more complex pieces, selected based on your personal goals. I can't wait to start this journey with you!

When I teach, I strive to help students learn the most efficient practice methods and to develop a healthy attitude towards learning music. Your progression on the instrument is what will take you to the next step. Either playing solo and chamber have the same core values: beautiful tone production, fine intonation, pure rhythm, expressive playing, knowledge of musical styles, acute listening, excellent ensemble skills. If you study with me, I will help you master these concepts and techniques at your own pace and help you find your own musical voice through playing the piano/viola.
